A routing anomaly occurred due to an incident of Global IPv6 Route Leaking, originating from a newly onboarded JasTel customer at NIX around 17:30 on July 09, 2025. These leaked routes were inadvertently propagated via JasTel’s network to other downstream customers receiving Full Route configurations.
As a result, approximately 200,000 unexpected routes were received, causing a malfunction in our Network Edge Switch at JasTel’s Jasmine Tower. This switch serves as an essential interconnection point between CSL-TC and Jasmine.
The incident resulted in connectivity disruptions primarily affecting Domestic traffic via True and AIS. Other routes such as 3BB, NT, TOT, and DTAC remained operational via TLH.
Although the main restoration was completed by 19:17, some users on AIS and TRUE networks continued to experience degraded domestic connectivity.
We decided to move the peering device from Network Edge at JasTel’s Datacenter to Network Edge at CSL-TC Datacenter which has more capacity and ability to apply peering policy. After successfully moving the peering device at 21:38, the domestic connectivity issues from AIS and TRUE were resolved.
Compute Node 12 was shut down unexpectedly, affecting the customer’s cloud instance hosted on the node. The root cause was identified as a faulty control cable set. The motherboard and other components remained functional.
A DDoS attack targeted one of the IP addresses in our network, with traffic volume exceeding our capacity. Although this traffic should have been handled and scrubbed by our provider, the configured ACL allowed all traffic to reach the targeted IP.
On October 14, 2024, internet services via IIG and NIX experienced an outage caused by the upstream provider issue. Upon investigation, the upstream provider reported a double fault affecting both primary and backup network paths:
On October 7, 2024, a service outage occurred due to a power failure caused by a fire in the Power Distribution Unit (PDU) of cabinet BE04 at the Datacenter (CSL-TC). The incident disrupted multiple services.
On September 27, 2024, the Internet services via IIG and NIX experienced an outage due to an issue with our provider, JasTel. Upon investigation, JasTel reported a “Disk Full” alarm on the Electrical-Cross Connect (ECXC) card of the DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) Node. This card stores critical configuration information for the device. The disk full issue led to a subsequent failure of the Transponder Card, which resulted in the loss of connectivity to the destination node and caused a circuit interruption, affecting our services on IIG and NIX.
